Triscuit Hint of Salt Review

Triscuit Hint of SaltYou're looking at a fan of Triscuits here, however, even I have to agree that my beloved Triscuit Thin Crisps can be quite salty for some taste buds (including my own from time to time). Therefore, when I saw Triscuit Hint of Salt, they seemed just simple enough to be fantastic.

If you have ever had a regular Triscuit, then note that nothing has changed with the texture and shape of these crunchy, woven masterpieces. They are a nice-sized, dense square of tightly woven strands of whole wheat held together by soybean and/or palm oil and seasoned with only a hint of salt - yes, there is a mere 3 ingredients what a shocker! I have come to find that products that utilize fewer ingredients to the fullest of their capabilities always come out on top (take De Wafelbakkers Buckwheat Berry Pancakes with Flaxseed as an example). The hint of salt makes for the ideal seasoning and is anything but overpowering ... it's basically perfect.

Triscuit Thin Crisps Review

Triscuit Thin CrispsToss out those tortilla chips because when you replace them with Nabisco Triscuit Thin Crisps you will never miss them. I can sum up the Triscuit Thin Crisps in just a few flavorful words: layered, crispy and somehow slightly buttery (without any added butter)! Dip them in salsa and they may actually pass for a tortilla chip substitute. However, I dipped them in hummus, which is another good alternative. By the way, for now, there is a coupon on the back of the box for $0.55 off of Athenos Hummus - read our review). But, forget the dip; these crisps can definitely stand alone! Nabisco said it best, "Crunch to your health."

Usually, I am reluctant to try many crunchy snacks because they contain partially hydrogenated oil (which is just code for trans fat). Therefore, I end up buying organic or health products at a slightly higher price. Well, Nabisco has found out how to make a stunning product at a great price! Not only is there no partially hydrogenated oil, but the ingredient list contains a mere four ingredients: whole wheat, soybean oil, salt, and monoglycerides. Furthermore, I paid about $2.50 for this 8.5oz box and feel that it was worth every penny!
