Stacy's Pita Chips are one snack that I don't think I could ever give up ... but I must confess that I don't buy them too often because the bag will be gone in 2 days, no matter how hard I may try. So here's another confession. When I saw Stacy's Simply Naked Bagel Chips quietly resting on the shelf below and I threw a bag in my cart - I thought, well, the Stacy's brand name should ensure that these are good, but since they're bagel chips and not pita chips, perhaps they will not be so good that I will want to eat the whole bag.
Well, I was wrong ... about the second part. These all natural bagel chips are amazing. They are larger than I was expecting, being more oval-like than circular. Furthermore, they are not nearly as rock-hard as some bagel chips that I have sunk my teeth into before. Each perfectly thick round is firm, while still possessing a light, crispiness; making them more fun to enjoy than those that have the potential of breaking a tooth. Why are these bagel chips so unique? Well, to answer that question, I went to the back of the bag: "We take bagels, slice them vertically into bite sized chips, add all-natural seasoning, then bake them for the perfect crunch. Its 'basic' made into something more." The 'Simply Naked' flavor is simply salted; and I wouldn't have it any other way. It is not an overwhelmingly salty flavor, but simply a touch of seasoning (and a hint of sweetness) to make your taste buds want more.
Stacy's Pita Chips has a huge fan base, and you can count me in as one too. Stacy's Chips are, "made from all natural pita ... then twice baked for the perfect crunch with delicious all-natural seasoning baked right in." When I was passing by the Target markdowns section and spotted a flavor I had never tasted before, the foodie within got super excited and of course, this had to go in my shopping cart. The minute I got home from the store, I popped open the bag of Stacy's Naturally Cheddar Pita Chips and started munching.
The flavor profile reminds me of Cheeze-its. Actually, at times, I do not feel like I am eating pita chips, instead I feel like I am eating cheese crackers, and though it's pleasant that's not really what I signed up for. I suppose it tastes different to me because it's seasoned with real cheese, and I'm probably used to fake cheddar flavored chips. I purchased a jumbo, family sized bag at Target (on sale) for $3.00 and I will certainly have no problem finishing it. On the other hand, I do not think Stacy's Naturally Cheddar Pita Chips will satisfy your pita chip desires. They will, however, satisfy you hunger for crunchy, cheesy crackers.

For my crunchy fix, Glenny's Soy Crisps for a crunchy fix. However, I had the opportunity to try Stacy's Cinnamon Sugar PIta Chips the other day, and I decided to review them and see what everyone else thinks about this treat. I picked up a 1.5-ounce bag for $1.25 and looked forward to trying it.
Stacy's Pita Chips are made from "all natural pita" and then twice baked. I'm used to having soy crisps that have a light, airy texture, so the pita chips were pretty different - harder. When I opened the bag, I got a strong, delicious whiff of cinnamon, but as I bit into one, I could tell that this wasn't exactly what I was going for, texture-wise. However, the cinnamon and sugar flavors were perfect.
Each 1.5-ounce package of Stacy's Cinnamon Sugar Pita Chips provides 200 calories, 11% of the daily value for total fat but only 3% of the DV for saturated fat, 180 mg sodium (7% of the DV), 8% of the DV for fiber, 9 grams of sugar and 4 grams of protein.
I know people who are Stacy's Pita Chips enthusiasts, but honestly, I don't really get it. The taste is just okay, nutrition facts aren't that great - natural doesn't mean low fat - and the ingredients list , while not bad, starts off with enriched wheat flour, organic sugar and sunflower oil.
