The taste of the Slim Fast Peanut Butter Crunch Time Snack Bar was amazingly delicious, but the size left a lot to be desired. And the same thing turned out to be true for the Slim Fast Chocolate Mint Snack Bar.

Slim Fast managed to provide a bar that was deliciously chewy, yet with a slightly airy, crunchy texture. It doesn't taste too sweet, and the mint touch is genius. A slight minty taste is left in your mouth even after you're finished chewing. The only drawback I could find is with the size. This bar is a tiny 23 grams. This can do nothing more than satisfy a craving for sweets ... and even then, I wouldn't eat this bar by itself. Maybe with a big steaming mug of Celestial Seasonings Original Indian Spice TeaHouse Chai.

Each 23 gram Slim Fast Chocolate Mint Snack Bar provides 100 calories, 3.5 grams of total fat, 2.5 grams of which is saturated fat (4% and 12% of the daily value), 3 grams of fiber, 1 gram of protein, 7 grams of sugars and less than 1 gram of sugar alcohols.

It's been a long time since we have done reviews of Slim Fast products here on Iateapie.net, so when I saw the Slim Fast Peanut Butter Crunch Time Snack Bar for 99 cents, I decided to try it. I like Peanut Butter, I like chocolate, and I love crunch! A perfect combination, I thought. Unfortunately, I should have looked at the nutritional information first.

Each 23 gram, bar provides 100 calories, 3.5 grams of total fat, 1.5 grams of which is saturated fat, no fiber, 1 gram of protein and 13 grams of sugars. The calorie count is okay and the fat count isn't astronomically high, but where is the protein and fiber?! How is this supposed to be any kind of filling snack bar without them?

On the flip side, the Slim Fast Peanut Butter Crunch Time Snack Bar sure tastes good. It was composed of a crunchy, toffee-like interior, with a milk chocolate coating. It was crispy and crunchy and chocolate peanut buttery, but it was small.

Slim Fast Caramel Protein Snack Chews Review

Slim Fast is the latest company to get hit by the 100 calorie bug. In an attempt to portion control and nutritionize (not a real word, I know) a delicious treat, Slim Fast has stuck five little caramel squares in a packet, and is marketing them as Slim Fast Protein Snack Chews. They are available in Peanut Butter and Caramel, which is the one that I tried.

Each "chew" measures is about 1 x 1 inch and comes individually wrapped in yellow paper, which really frightened me when I initially opened the package because I thought each chew was the unnatural yellow. It was very soft, not a tougher taffy which I actually would have preferred to make each piece last longer. It had a grainy texture and the flavor reminded me of a good cookie. I had only planned on only eating one, then I ate the next, and another, till I had powered through the whole pack in just a few minutes.
