I normally seek out whole-wheat bread products, and tortillas are no exception. However, I've never been able to locate burrito-sized whole-wheat tortillas. My local grocery store does, however, stock Mission 96% Fat Free Large/Burrito Tortillas, which boasts Omega-3 fatty acids from added flaxseed. While not necessarily as healthy as whole-wheat I figured they'd be my best and most readily-available choice.
I wanted to get a good taste of tortilla before I added other ingredients, so I heated a tortilla in a skillet on my stove-top, and ate it simply with a little butter spread on it. The tortillas are a bit doughy, a little sweet, and pretty good - not necessarily restaurant quality, but pretty good for store-bought. They're equally good made into a wrap, burrito, or quesadilla. I personally mixed drained low-sodium black beans with some reduced-fat Colby jack and a chopped chipotle in adobo. A little sour cream and guacamole on top - Yum!
