When I think of condiments, I invariably think of ketchup. Ever since I was a child, I'v loved it on everything from hot dogs and hamburgers to scrambled eggs and french fries. And while several companies make ketchup, Heinz has been my one-and-only through the years. they've since added several "healthier" varieties; organic, low-sodium, and reduced-sugar. I decided to try the Heinz Organic variety to see if I would still be enamored by the taste and to see if there was a difference in the ingredients list.
I decided that French fries, ketchup's eternal life-mate, would be the best choice to try the red stuff on. I squeezed out a healthy amount next to my oven baked fries and dug in. Tomatoe-y goodness ensued, highlighted by a light tang and mild spiciness. It's not as thick or sticky as regular Heinz, but the taste is basically the same. I would say that the organic version is a little less "zingy"; it's like there's less vinegar which might be a make-or-break point for some.
