We have quite a few reviews of non-dairy "milk" in the archives - including Soy Milk, Almond Milk, Rice Milk & Coconut Milk. But Flax USA Original Flaxmilk was my first experience with "milk" made from flax oil.
Each 1 cup serving of Flax USA Original Flaxmilk provides 50 calories from 2.5 grams of total fat, (4% of the daily value), no saturated fat, fiber or protein, 7 grams of sugars, and 80 mg sodium (3% of the DV). Plus Flaxmilk delivers 1100mg of Omega-3 (ALA) in every serving. But here's the thing - DHA & EPA are more "beneficial" omega-3 fatty acids, than ALA, which we are not exactly deficient in.
As for the taste, I quite liked this. There is a sort of beany/ nutty flavor and scent that's quite unique and hard to describe. It's not overpowering, but I can see how this might be something not everyone will like. And although the description on the packaging read "creamY' - that's not a word I would use to describe it. One of the kids (the older one) didn't like it when he drank it straight, the other loved it. Both liked it with their cereal (not that I told them that it was the "different milk").
