After experiencing the delicious and nutritious sugar free Chocolite Protein Peanut Butter Bar, I decided to go through my stash and try another flavor. The Chocolite Protein Cookies N Cream Bar looked like just the thing to have after a long hard workout.
I opened the bar to taste it and found a nice milky chocolate flavor with a chewy texture, along with a caramel layer on the bottom that was delicious ... I wouldn't say that there was a cookies n cream flavor, but it was still tasty just the same.
Each 34 gram Chocolite Protein Cookies N Cream Bar is gluten- and sugar-free, and provides 95 calories, 3 grams of total fat, 2 grams of which is saturated, 9 grams of fiber, 4 grams of sugar alcohols plus 9 grams of protein and fiber (38% of the daily value). There is also a slew of vitamins and minerals (15-30% for each).
Just check out all the Chocolite reviews, and you'll see that brand has some of our favorite products. I've already gone nuts over some of their protein bars, like the Chocolite Protein Triple Chocolate Bar (Sugar Free) and Chocolite Protein Chocolate Turtle Protein Bar - so why not try another flavor?! I picked up the Peanut Butter variety and wasted no time in trying it out.
The combo of peanut butter and chocolate is pure heaven for me, so I had high hopes for this protein bar. At just 100 calories per package, I was excited to find a high-protein, low-calorie, gluten free snack (or dessert). I opened my bar and examined the flat, chocolate-coated treat. I took a bite and was struck with the taste of ... toffee. No, this doesn't really taste like peanut butter, but it does taste like peanut brittle or toffee. Strange, yes, and more strange since I was imagining something like the Chocolite Sugar Free Peanut Butter Cup Patties. Still, it was good, though quite chewy and not peanut buttery at all.
Each Chocolite Protein Peanut Butter Bar provides 100 calories, 4 grams of total fat, 2 grams of which is saturated, 10 grams of fiber, 4 grams of sugar alcohols, 9 grams of protein, plus 30% of the daily value for vitamin C, iron, vitamin D, vitamin E, thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, vitamin B6, folate, vitamin B12, biotin, pantothenic acid, and zinc.
Chocolite sugar free chews are delish! so far I've tried the Chocolite Chocolate Almond Fudge Chews and Chocolite Peanut Chews, and the Chocolite Chocolate Coconut Chews were next on my list.
Inside the package are two candies ... I mean "chews". These candies are made of sorbitol, dehydrated coconut, oligofructose, erythritol, cocoa butter, chocolate liquor, sodium caseinate, calcium carbonate, whey protein concentrate, milk fat, soy lecithin, vanilla, and sucralose. Those aren't the most natural ingredients for sure, but for a candy that has just 35 calories per piece, I wouldn't expect them to be.
As for taste, I must say that at first I didn't taste the coconut. I popped one of the candies into my mouth and at first only noticed the slightly artificial yet still delicious chocolate coating. After a few seconds, though, the coconut came through loud and clear - and it was delicious. These candies aren't as chewy as the other nut-based ones,
but they're still great. They definitely killed my chocolate craving at little nutritional expense (just watch those sugar alcohols).
Most of the Chocolite products reviewed here at Iateapie.net have gotten raved reviews. In fact, the Chocolite Chocolate Chip Brownie Bites currently holds the honor of being the only product tried so far that ew haven't totally loved. Of course, that means I had to try another flavor, so I grabbed one of the Chocolite Chocolate Mint Brownie Brownie Bites.
Eager to try this treat, I opened the package to reveal the three slightly-larger-than-half-dollar-sized brownie bites. I took a nibble of one. My initial impressions: these aren't chewy like brownies, and they're certainly not as chewy as the brand's Chocolite Peanut Chews; they're a bit more cakey. However, the taste is great. The chocolate is a tiny bit on the artificial side, but maybe it's just that I'm used to the flavor of dark chocolate and these are milk chocolate so it naturally tastes a bit different to me. But the mint adds a wonderful kick and these brownie bites are just yum.
Chocolite says, "Finally a delicious moist protein bar with 1/3 fewer calories & twice the fiber! Four layers, protein, caramel, nuts & chocolate." With a description like that, you know I had to try Chocolite Protein Chocolate Turtle Protein Bar. These 37 gram bars also have no sugar added and are gluten-free.
I unwrapped my bar and found it to be smaller than many other protein bars; then again, how much can you ask for in a lower-calorie product? And don't be fooled by the package - the Chocolite Chocolate Turtle Protein Bar does not have crunchy nut on the outside ... because those nuts are contained in another layer of chocolate on the bar! Needless to say, I was surprised to open the bar and discover this as I had been expecting something more like a Kashi GoLean! Roll.
I bit in and enjoyed the mix of chewy caramel, crunchy nuts, and sweet chocolate. None of it tasted artificial, although the chewiness was something I noticed right away. I liked that feature though as it made the bar seem to last longer.
If you have not tried Chocolite products then you are truly missing out! I have already had the Chocolite Peanut Chews (Sugar Free), which were amazing, and so I couldn't wait to try the Chocolite Sugar Free Chocolate Almond Fudge Chews.
The package depicts a rich, chocolately candy studded with almond bits. I opened the package to see if the product inside tasted as delicious as it looked. And it did! I love almond, and I liked the variation from the standard pecan and peanut in candies. I also liked the fudgy almond brittle-like taste as well.
Each chew provides 30 calories, 2 grams of total fat which includes 1 gram of saturated fat, 25% of the daily value for fiber, no sugars (of course), 1 gram of sugar alcohols and 1 gram of protein. There are 2 chews per package.
