You may think that chocolate and soda go about as well together as ... whipped cream and Brussels sprouts. Still, because I had tried Metromint Chocolate Mint Water and liked it, I thought perhaps a chocolate soda incarnation could be a good thing. A grocery store near where I live carries single cans of many Canfield's Sodas for just 79 cents, so I felt like I could buy a serving of Canfield's Diet Cherry Chocolate Fudge Soda without making a huge commitment should it turn out to be horrible.
I popped the top of this soda and took a sip. My first thought was, Wow, this really does taste like chocolate! My second thought was, I really do like this stuff! The chocolate flavor wasn't completely natural, but then again, putting chocolate in a soda isn't exactly natural either, right?! I liked the combination of chocolate and cherry (it was a way richer flavor than in many sodas), and I even felt sort of like I was having dessert. So much so, in fact, that I can't wait to try this with ice cream for a chocolate cherry ice cream float!
