I had Calbee's Original Snack Salad Snapea Crisps before and had found the friendly infusion of peas in this snack food to also have a nice crunch and texture (they have also been reviewed here). When I saw the Caesar Flavor Snapea Crisps, I was excited about this healthy, crispy snack but wary of the Caesar flavor. Fortunately, I was pleasantly surprised.
Similar to the original, these green pea infused rice crisps resembled pea pods and had a nice soft crunch. The added flavoring was not overbearing at all and complemented the natural pea flavor well, however, it didn't really seem similar to actual Caesar dressing to me. I suppose it could be a problem if you're a Caesar dressing aficionado, but this wasn't a big deal to me. I also liked how there was little residue that stuck to my fingers as I ate my snack - I hate messy sticky snack fingers. The bag says that they are baked, and I agreed that they were delicate and tasty.
I've been trying out a lot of healthier snack options lately, and when I spotted a snack made from peas, you know I had to try it. So into my grocery cart went a bag of Snack Salad Original Snapea Crisps.
Snapea Crisps are pea pods baked (not fried) to be a crunchy snack. My first reaction when I tried these was, "WOW!" They are not too salty and very crunchy, which makes them fun to pop into your mouth. The texture is perfect, not too hard and only a slight hint of peas in the taste. Once I knew I liked the texture, I bought the Caesar flavor and liked them even more. I won't be shy about the fact that I ate the whole bag in two sittings (luckily it's only a 3.3 ounce serving bag)!
