Yes - good snack for all can be found in the Kids and Baby Food section of the supermarket aisles. The other day, I picked up a pack of Beech-Nut Let's Grow Strawberry Banana Yogurt Nibbles.
Check out this introduction to the "Let's Grow" line of products from Beechnut: a new variety of convenient foods specially created for toddlers with nutrition moms can feel good about. New Let's Grow! is based on a "No Junk Promise" - a promise Beech-Nut has made to take out what mom's don't want in food and put in all the good things they do want.
Well, I wanted in on some if that "no junk" action!
Each tiny crisp has a banana strawberry coating and a wonderful melty goodness that makes them last a good long time, which is a good bang for your calorie buck. They also mixed well with yogurt and oatmeal, lending fruity flavor to each dish. Unfortunately, they did not hold up well to cold milk, so this really isn't an option for addition to cold cereal. I must say though that this makes a great addition to a snack, but on it's own, it wasn't very filling to me, but for the young 'uns, it probably is.
Each 24-piece serving provides 30 calories, 1 gram of fat, and 6 grams of carbs but no protein or fiber. There is also 10% of a whole host of vitamins and minerals. Each package has about 6 servings, so if you're a volume eater like I am, an entire bag does minimal damage at 180 calories.
