As I was strolling down the soup aisle in search of a flavorful Amy's Soup, like Amy's Organic Black Bean Vegetable Soup, I spotted a soup on the shelves that I had never tried before, Baxters Healthy Chicken & Vegetable Soup. Since I was in an adventurous mood, I decided to let go of "sure for unsure" and picked up a can.
Oh my goodness (said in my Sheneneh voice - fellow Martin fans will get that reference)! This soup is bursting with a delightfully unique flavor - it's like chicken noodle soup taken up a notch. The beans add a nice textural difference, while the chicken looks like you just diced it up yourself.
It's not without a few ... hiccups ... though, as the carrots are a bit mushy, and if you get too big of a chunk of chicken, it's tough and make for a very unappealing bite. I am never 100% satisfied with the chicken in chicken noodle soups anyway (take Muir Glen Organic Chicken Noodle Soup for example). This particular chicken has a very appealing appearance, but the texture is sub-par.
