Please check out the Waffle (and Pancakes) Reviews if you are still buying Eggos! This is one area where "natural" and some "organic" products excel in nutrition facts and taste, and the price, while more, is not prohibitive. Still, I am no "brand name snob" and when I saw the more ... mainstream Aunt Jemima Low Fat Waffles in the store, I couldn't resist buying it to review, especially since the kids approved this purchase - there have been a few mishaps in the household with the kids and some "natural" waffles that weren't very tasty and so now they threaten to organize a hunger strike if they see a brand name they don't recognize!
I found the Aunt Jemima Low Fat Waffles were a little bland on their own, but there were no "off" tastes, and it just allowed the additions to shine through - after all, who eats waffles plain?! For some reason, I expected this to have a lot of sugars, so I was pleasantly surprised to see only 2 grams of sugars per serving of 2 pancakes. This means when the kids attempt to kill it with syrup - at least the pancaked won't add to the sugar grams.
