When it comes to shopping for yogurt, my inner bargainista really comes out. I usually buy whatever brand of low fat yogurt is on sale and hopefully end up leaving with a new product to test out. Last weekend, that new product was Stonyfield O'Soy Strawberry and Peach Yogurt. It's organic, low fat, has 7 grams of protein and is lactose free.
Upon first examination, the yogurt appeared to be clumpy and had separated. However, get your mix on because it's for a good cause. The final texture of the liberally mixed yogurt is smooth and creamy, as it claims, possessing a texture similar to pudding. The flavor profile can best be described as strawberries and cream. BUT I don't want to mislead you into thinking that the soy flavor is undetectable, because it is most definitely present and accounted for - unlike with Silk Live Strawberry Yogurt. Still, I thought the yogurt was quite tasty - different - but still good nonetheless.
Each 4 ounce container of Stonyfield O'Soy Strawberry Organic Yogurt provides contains 100 calories, 3% of the daily value of total fat, 1 gram of fiber, 13 grams of sugars and 5 grams of protein.
This is a delicious lactose free yogurt. Silk Live Strawberry Soy Yogurt has the edge on taste, but the high sugar content makes Stonyfield O'Soy the better choice.
