Who knew they would make limited edition yogurt flavors?! I sure didn't, but either way, I'm down with it and so glad I got a chance to try a few. I spotted Dannon Light 'N Fit Cantaloupe Yogurt at the grocery store for $0.99 and into my cart it went. To tell you the truth, I'm not a big fan of cantaloupe, but I was intrigued to see how it would fare in a yogurt.
I opened up my package when I got home and took a bite. I must say, this didn't really taste like cantaloupe to me. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad, but it tasted like a generic yogurt fruit flavor. I guess if I squinted and tried really hard to conjure up the delicious summer melon, I could get somewhere, but I don't think that's quite the intention of the folks over at Dannon. The color of this yogurt wasn't quite as scary as that of the Watermelon variety (yikes!), so that's a plus.
Each 6 ounce serving of Dannon Light 'N Fit Cantaloupe Yogurt provides 80 calories, no fat, 11 grams of sugar and 5 grams of protein. There is also 20% of the RDA for vitamin D and riboflavin.
Although this flavor received a good review over at Gigi Reviews, I wasn't blown away by this in the least, so it definitely won't go on my rotation. Good thing this is a limited edition.
