Dannon Light 'N Fit Watermelon Yogurt Review

Dannon Light 'N Fit Watermelon YogurtI've been wanting to try some of the other new and limited-time-only Dannon Light 'N Fit yogurts I've seen advertised, so when I saw the Watermelon flavor at the grocery store for $0.99, I had to buy one. I was kind of excited - I like the line's fruit flavors (strawberry and blueberry are great), and a new and different variety could be just what I need.

I opened the package and inspected the yogurt. First of all, let me say that the appearance was a bit off-putting - the contents were a completely unnatural shade of pink. They smelled really strongly of watermelon, too, and not the real stuff, but the fake flavoring used for candies. Undeterred, I spooned up a scoopful, and tasted it. Unfortunately for me, it tasted exactly like it smelled - this is the yogurt equivalent of a Jolly Rancher. Um, not what I was looking for ... even the texture (creamy but not too thick), didn't redeem the pretty awful taste of the yogurt.

Each 6 ounce serving of Dannon Light 'N Fit Watermelon Yogurt provides 80 calories, no fat, 11 grams of sugar and 5 grams of protein. There is also 15% of the daily value for calcium and phosphorus, and 20% of the RDA for vitamin D and riboflavin.

This may be a low-calorie yogurt, but given the sickeningly sweet taste I'll stick with something like my Greek yogurt to really keep me satisfied.
