Dannon Light & Fit Apple Pie Yogurt is a limited-time-only seasonal yogurt. I saw it on sale at one of my local grocery stores for $0.89 cents, so I had to pick one up. The only other "apple pie" flavored yogurt I remember trying is Yoplait Light Apple Turnover Yogurt, and I thought it was delicious.
The apple flavor is quite strong, and the big chunks of actual apples make this yogurt more fun and satisfying than regular pureed varieties. The cinnamon flavor was a nice addition, but the base was a little .. off. The overall combination of apple and cinnamon on the sweet yogurt background was a little too much. I can't quite pinpoint what it was about the flavor that was bothering me, but I must say this isn't my favorite.
Each 6 ounce container of Dannon Light & Fit Apple Pie Yogurt provides 80 calories, no fat, no fiber, 11 grams of sugar and 5 grams of protein. The ingredients actually include apple puree, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Thiss yogurt is sweetened with sucralose, acesulfame K and fructose.
Dannon Light & Fit have a lot of interesting flavors, but so far, I really haven't been wowed by any. The Watermelon was just so-so, as was the Cantaloupe, and so is this Apple Pie yogurt. I did enjoy the Key Lime Pie, and plan on trying a lot more of the flavors, but if you have any favorites, please let me know.
