I love Greek Yogurt and I'm always trying different brands and varieties. On my last shopping trip, my choice was Chobani Plain 0% Yogurt. The price was $1.69 for a 6-ounce container, versus Fage at $1.99 and up (it's as high as $2.49 at a lot of convenience stores near me).

The texture isn't as thick and luscious as Fage. Sure, it's definitely thicker than regular yogurt, but I like the almost whipped feeling that Fage has. As for the taste, it wasn't as sour as the Fage 0%, but it tastes great mixed with either a little bit of sweetener or some honey, and it worked almost as well as Fage for a sour cream stand-in. I much prefer this plain variety to the Vanilla one.

Each 6-ounce container of Chobani Plain 0% Yogurt provides 100 calories, 7 grams of sugar, 18 grams of protein, and 20% of the RDA for calcium. The ingredients include just cultured pasteurized nonfat milk and five live active cultures.

There are 10 more calories that Fage Total 0% Plain Greek Yogurt, but 2 grams more grams of protein as well. It would be a tough choice between the two if I were to choose, because I like them both, so it will probably come down to price - whichever one is cheaper at the time will go into the shopping cart.
