Better Whey All Natural Nonfat YogurtI stumbled upon Better Whey of Life Yogurt while in Whole Foods the other day, and I had to buy some. With 15 mg of "complete protein," how could I resist? Although here were several fruit flavors, I decided to try the Better Whey of Life Plain 'n Tart Protein Yogurt, and bought a 6-ounce container for $1.59. I wondered whether to add sweetener, but decided to forgo that for at least the first bite. I found that this yogurt, unsweetened, had a hint of lemony taste, much like that of other plain nonfat yogurts (like Stonyfield Farm).

It was good without the added sweet flavor, but I decided to add some sweetener to see how that spruced things up. I found that the sweetener made the yogurt taste even better to me (and my sweet tooth), but, that said, the unsweetened flavor isn't as sour as something like Fage Fat Free Yogurt. The texture was interesting too. It's thicker and more pudding-like than most other regular yogurts, but not as thick as Greek yogurt. It really reminded me of a tart pudding.

Each 6 ounce cup of Better Whey of Life Plain 'n Tart Protein Yogurt provides 130 calories, 0.5 grams of total fat, 12% of the daily value for fiber, 7 grams of sugar, 17 grams of protein, and a whopping 35% of the RDA for calcium. The ingredients are, cultured pasteurized Grade A nonfat milk, whey protein concentrate, inulin, natural corn starch, Kosher gelatin, pectin and vitamin D.

I love the combination of protein, fiber and calcium for a reasonable number of calories. This will go into my yogurt rotation for sure.
