Seapoint Farms Edamame Lightly Salted Soybeans in Pods Review
Edamame (soybeans) is one of my favorite foods. They have beneficial soy protein, lots of fiber, and vitamins to boot, all for little fat and calories - not to mention how fun they are to eat! You may already be familiar with Seapoint Farms Dry Roasted Edamame, as am I, but I was eager to try the fresher Seapoint Farms Edamame Lightly Salted Soybeans in Pods.
Preparation is a cinch: heat by either boiling or microwaving (with a little water), then enjoy! In my opinion, the soybeans in pods are much more fun to eat than the shelled or dried ones - just pull the pod through your teeth to get the beans. A healthy, filling snack that takes a while to eat - sounds perfect to me!

I found Seapoint Farms Edamame Lightly Salted Soybeans in Pods at my local D'Agostino grocery store for $3.29. The nutritional stats are wonderful: a 1/2 cup serving (edible parts only) clocks in at 100 calories, 3 grams of fat (4% of the RDA), no saturated or trans fat, 8 grams of protein and 9 grams of total carbohydrates which includes 4 grams of fiber (14% of the RDA) and 1 gram of sugar. Despite the lightly salted label, these so-called "wonder veggies" have only 260 mg, or 1% of the RDA, of sodium per serving - which is pracatically no salt.
If you haven't tried these before, go check them out at your local health food, Trader Joes or Whole Foods.
