Morningstar Farms Veggie Bites Review
Morningstar Farms Veggie Bites are like chicken nuggets, except that instead of being made with chicken the middle is filled with broccoli and cheddar while the outside is breaded. The veggie 'bites' are also like big nuggets. Each one is about 2 - 3 inches in diameter - or bigger than McDonald's chicken nuggets. Morningstar Farms veggie bites taste delicious - and I was very surprised because I don't like veggies and I especially don't like broccoli. If you're like me, don't let that scare you! The broccoli, cheese and breaded outer crust together make it so tasty that you really wouldn't be able to tell it's broccoli. At least not until you bite into one of the broccoli chunks (I think it's a piece of broccoli stem). There's only about 1 chunk in each nugget, but I didn't like it and I didn't eat it, but I think people more familiar with veggies, especially broccoli, won't mind this.

There are about 9 Morningstar Farms Veggie Bites in a box, which costs $2.98. One serving is 3 pieces, and has 190 calories, 10 grams of fat (15% of the recommended daily amount), 2 grams of saturated fat, 660 milligrams of sodium (28% of the RDA), 1 gram of fiber, 7 grams of protein, and quite a few vitamins and minerals, including 50% of your daily recommendations of vitamin B12.
The best thing about the nutrition is the vitamin content, but I was shocked at the amount of calories in just 3 pieces. McDonald's chicken nuggets actually have similar nutritional values. There's 210 calories in 5 chicken nuggets (5 nuggets are about the same weight as 3 bites), 12.5 grams of total fat, 2.5 grams saturated fat (1 gram of trans fat too), and less sodium (563 mg). Of course, McDonald's nuggets have little vitamins and don't provide a vegetable serving - so if you look at the total picture, the veggie bites would turn out to be better for you.
I would suggest the veggie bites as part of a healthy meal. I don't think eating 3 or 4 veggie bites will be filling for anybody. I think would be great for kids who don't particularly like vegetables.
