Amy's Light in Sodium Organic Minestrone Soup Review
Cold weather is fast approaching (perhaps it is there to stay wherever you are). To me, that means soup ... and lots of it! However, there is a whole aisle at the grocery store devoted to soup, so how will I know which ones to buy to warm me up and make my tummy happy? I'm doing it by trial and error and Amy's Low Sodium Minestrone Soup was up for it's turn at a taste testing.
Let me just say that this can is jam crammed with veggies ... peas, carrots, onions, potatoes, celery, tomatoes ... you name it! There are also a handful of funky shaped noodles that are extremely over cooked and I wish that Amy's would simply leave this mushy component out.

The other element of this low sodium minestrone soup is perfectly tender kidney beans. Unfortunately, lack of sodium seems to have translated into low flavor. I never add salt to my food and I generally prefer low sodium things, so for me to say that this soup is lacking a little in the flavor department should speak volumes.
Each 1 cup serving of Amy's Light in Sodium Organic Minestrone Soup provides 90 calories, 1.5 grams of total fat, 12% of the daily value for sodium, 3 grams of fiber and 3 grams of protein. As you can see, eating the whole can is perfectly acceptable (I like that)!

In my opinion, Amy's Low Sodium Minestrone Soup isn't the best Minestrone on the market, but has potential. The price of Amy's soups are generally somewhere around $2.50, which is higher than quite a few other options (but those aren't organic). it's usually worth it, like with Amy's Black Bean Vegetable Soup). However, but Amy's Low Sodium Minestrone Soup will have to join her Low Sodium Butternut Squash Soup in the 2 kiss category here on iateapie.net.
Come on Amy's, if Pacific Natural Foods can do it, so can you.
