Yoplait Smoothie (Strawberry Mango Pineapple) Review

Sometimes when I'm in need of something cold and creamy to wake me up in the morning or give me a mid-afternoon boost, I'll grab a Yoplait Light Smoothie. But if you have a few extra minutes, why not whip out your Magic Bullet (or blender) and blend up a Frozen Yoplait Strawberry Mango Pineapple Smoothie. All that you need is a touch of milk.

Now it was a bit of a stretch to see a bag of frozen fruit with the Yoplait brand name on it, but I like the Yoplait Light Smoothies (not so much the Yoplait Nouriche Light Breakfast Smoothie). In the Yoplait Strawberry Mango Pineapple Smoothie, you will notice what looks like big hunks of banana when you are dumping the vibrantly colored contents of the bag into your blender. Come to find out, those are not bananas, but little magic nuggets that make the smoothie taste as though made with luscious ice cream.
The ingredients in this Yoplait Frozen Smoothie are, "nonfat yogurt, sugar, fructose, milkfat, corn starch, banana puree, nonfat milk, gelatin, xanthan gum, pectin, carrageenan, sucralose, citric acid, natural flavors and a preservative."

A serving of Yoplait Strawberry Mango Pineapple Smoothie is 1/2 of the package contents (which is what I made), which provides 70 calories, 1 gram of total fat, 0.5 grams of which is saturated fat, 11 grams of sugar (and they do use the artificial sweetener, sucralose aka Splenda) , 1 gram of fiber and protein. All you have to add is 1/2 cup of milk, which will increase the calorie count to 110 calories (and the protein content should go up as well).
I paid $2.89 for a bag with 2 servings, which seemed worth it to me. I can see some protein shakes made using this, and water instead of milk. As I said before, I used 1/2 the package as recommended, and I was perfectly happy with how my smoothie turned out. Have you tried any of the Yoplait Smoothie flavors yet - what did you think?
