SeaPak Shrimp Co. Salmon Burgers Review

SeaPak Shrimp Co. sent me a box of their (frozen) Salmon Burgers to try out. The description on their website left me intrigued ... "a different kind of burger," they say. "Our All-Natural Salmon Burgers are a great way to get a healthy dose of your Omega-3's - there are 680mg per serving! Plus, they have no additives or preservatives. Enjoy these perfectly seasoned burgers right off the grill or straight from your oven." Well since it's the middle of winter, there would be no grilling, and I opted to pan-sear 4 of these babies.

Oh my goodness these salmon burgers were amazing. The delicious characteristic salmon flavor is there, and it is well seasoned. I'm surprised to hear myself saying this, but my only slight criticism is that they were a bit too salty ... but the burgers were still delicious.

Each 91 gram Seapak Shrimp Co. Salmon Burger provides 110 calories, 5 grams of total fat, 1 gram of which is saturated (7% and 4% of the daily value), 340 mg cholesterol (12% of the DV), 340 mg sodium (12% of the DV), no fiber or sugars and 16 grams of protein.

The ingredients are salmon, water, contains 2% or less of autolyzed yeast extract, canola oil, garlic powder, garlic, grill flavor (from sunflower oil), lemon juice concentrate, natural food coloring (beet juice, citric acid), natural smoke flavor, onion powder, paprika, rosemary, salt, soybean oil, tapioca dextrin, white pepper.

The nutrition facts aren't bad at all - I was expecting more total fat, and this is an all-natural product. A box cost $4.69 at my local Wal-mart - but as I mentioned before, I received a box (with 4) from the company. Delicious and worth every penny. Trader Joes Salmon Burgers has less sodium, so if there is a TJs near you, check it out as well.
