Spiru-tein Simply Natural Banana Protein Powder Review

Spirutein Simply Natural Banana Protein PowderIn branching out from my regular Spiru-tein High Protein Energy Meal Simply Natural Original Vanilla Protein Powder Review, I found this flavor - and let me tell you, it's definitely unique. At $1.49 for a single-serving packet, it was an easy way to test the flavor. I'm not saying I don't like this flavor - I actually really like it. It's got a rich, banana flavor that is surprisingly delicious. I wonder what it would taste like with real bananas in a smoothie ...

Remember Laffy Taffy? Remember the banana flavor? If you were like me, you liked this flavor, not because it tasted like real bananas (which I don't particularly care for), but like an improved (okay, artificial) flavor of bananas as only Laffy Taffy could render. That's sort of what Spirutein Simply Natural Banana Protein Powder tastes like, only they use 'natural' banana flavor.

Each scoop (or packet) provides 80 calories, no fat, 1 gram of fiber, 14 grams of protein, and 9 grams of sugars. There is also 100% of the daily value for vitamins A, C, D, E, thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, B6, folic acid, B12, biotin, iodine, zinc and pantothenic acid, 30% for calcium and selenium, 25% for iron and molybdenum, 20% for phosphorus and magnesium, 15% for chromium, and a whopping 250% for manganese.

The ingredients list starts out with Non-GMO isolated soy protein, fructose, maltodextrin, tri-calcium phosphate, natural banana flavor and natural vanilla flavor, then continues with a host of added vitamins and minerals.

I not only use protein powder in post-workout shakes, but I also add it to my oatmeal in the mornings (it makes me feel fuller longer), and I even add a little to low fat yogurt.
