Noodles are so delicious and fun to eat, but nutritionally, they're not much to brag about. Adding other ingredients to them is a way to pack in more nutritional punch. The Thai Kitchen Noodle Cart Thai Peanut Instant Rice Noodles do just that by providing chopped peanuts to mix with the rice noodles.
The noodles are really easy to prepare in the plastic container either by adding boiling water or microwaving with regular water. The seasoning packet, which includes the peanut pieces, provides the flavor for these noodles. Thai flavors are typically wonderfully complex, but this spice mix was simply sweet with a tiny bit of spicy. The peanuts added a fun crunch to the noodles, but the orange coloring was somewhat odd. There is also an oil packet included, but I didn't need use it and it was still delicious - save yourself some calories here.
Each package of Thai Kitchen Noodle Cart Thai Peanut Instant Rice Noodles provides 280 calories, 7 grams of fat, including 1 gram of saturated fat (10% and 5% of the daily value), 580 milligrams of sodium (24% DV), 6 grams of protein and 51 grams of carbohydrates, 2 grams of which is dietary fiber and 16 grams of sugar.
A 2.25 ounce package costs $2.09 at Target. The packaging provides practically everything you need, including a plastic fork, but you'll need a pair of scissors to open the bag of noodles. Though the orange-colored peanuts were unexpected, I liked the added protein and fiber. Though it's not authentic Thai flavor, the taste is quite all right. I'll be buying these again.
