After my wonderful experience with an Oskri Cashew Bar the other day, I decided to try more. After all, the amazingly short ingredient lists and their delicious taste means was really cemented in my memory. This time I opted for the Oskri Organics Quinoa Bar. Quinoa is a super-healthy grain I've recently discovered, but I don't think I've even heard of it being used in a nutrition bar before,
I shelled out my $1.39 for the bar at Whole Foods, and opened the package right away (if you've figured out anything about me so far, it's that I have little self-restraint when it comes to trying new foods). I liked the fact that the 53-gram serving was divided into three crispy sheets, which made me feel like I was eating more. The appearance of the bar/sheets was that of a grain-studded "cracker" of sweetened goodness, and the scent was intoxicating: sweet but not too sweet. The sweet scent probably came from the first and last of the four ingredients in the list - rice syrup, quinoa, sesame seeds, and date syrup. The taste was fantastic too, with a nice hearty crunch and just the right amount of sweetness. So good
.
Each serving of Oskri Organics Quinoa Bar (3 sheets, or one package) provides 230 calories, 12 grams of fat, no saturated, 4% of the daily value for sodium, 3 grams of fiber, 14 grams of sugar and 6 grams of protein.
All in all, I love this bar - the taste, nutrition facts & ingredients - it's so rare to find a product in which all three things are just on point!
