Not only do granola bars remind me of playing in soccer games in elementary school, but the Nature's Path Organic Chewy Chocolate Chip Granola Bar looked like it was an updated, more "adult" version, with its dark chocolate flavor. One look at the ingredients list left me impressed: organic tapioca syrup, organic rolled oats, organic chocolate chips (organic evaporated cane juice, organic chocolate liquor, organic cocoa butter, soy lecithin added as an emulsifier), organic brown rice flour, organic evaporated cane juice, organic invert cane syrup, organic soy oil, organic dried coconut, organic acacia gum, sea salt, natural flavor, organic molasses, soy lecithin, and organic rice bran extract.
I bit into the bar and was pleased with the naturally sweetened combination of wholesome oats and dark chocolate chips. I savored every bite of this chewy bar, which is actually a pretty decent size, weighing in at 35 grams. I have to say that this is one of my favorite chocolate chip nutrition bars .
Each Nature's Path Organic Chewy Chocolate Chip Granola Bar provides 140 calories, 8% of the daily value for total & saturated fat, 2 grams of protein, 8% of the DV for fiber and 11 grams of sugar.
The nutrrition facts are pretty good, although there is not as much fiber and protein as in some granola bars, like Kashi TLC Honey Almond Flax Granola Bars and Kashi TLC Cherry Dark Chocolate Chewy Granola Bar, but the ingredients list is more impressive.
I got these as samples from the company, but these bars normally retail for about $1.59 each. These are a good alternative to granola bars with tons of artificial ingredients.
