Larabar Peanut Butter Cookie Bar Review

Larabar Peanut butter Cookie BarLarabar Peanut Butter Cookie Bar are all the rage these days. In my opinion, it's for good reason. First, I should probably add a disclaimer to note that I love nutrition bars and eat one some form just about every day. However, it's a big 'bar world' full of competition out there, so you have to be savvy in choosing the good ones. Larabars are one of my favorites because they are made with simple, raw, pure, and organic ingredients, they are satisfying, delicious, and still a really healthy snack choice. What amazes me about this particular one, peanut butter cookie, is that it actually does taste like a cookie, yet the only ingredients are dates, peanuts, and salt. It's moist (a little too moist, actually since it makes my fingers all oily), sweet, peanut-buttery, and still provides you with a serving of fruit. What's not to love?!

Larabar Peanut Butter Cookie Bar are a little high in fat thanks to all the nuts with 13 grams of total fat per bar (20% of the daily value), but mostly all of that is polyunsaturated or monounsaturated - there is 2 grams of saturated fat (10% of the daily value). The 48 gram bar also provides 210 calories, 5 grams of protein and 23 grams of carbohydrates which includes 16 grams of sugar and 4 grams of fiber (16% of the recommended daily amount). These bars are also gluten, dairy and soy free.

Though Larabars are a little pricey (about $1.40 each), when you're seeking something delicious without the unhealthy nutrition panel of a regular cookie, this should be your go-to bar.
