Granola Gourmet Chocolate Espresso Energy BarGranola Gourmet Very Berry Energy Bars were A++, so it was only a matter of time before I found another variety to try. When I saw the words "chocolate" and "espresso" - I knew this Granola Gourmet Energy Bar was going home with me ... or maybe it would be eaten on the way home from the grocery store ... or while in the grocery store parking lot!

Granola Gourmet products use low glycemic ingredients, and they advertise their unique products as "Energy Bars for Athletes, Diabetics and YOU!". Thankfully, I fit into that last category quite nicely. The Granola Gourmet Chocolate Espresso Energy Bar is quite compact and extremely dense with an abundance of chunky chocolate pieces dispersed throughout. There is a delightfully fudgy texture amidst every dense chew and while the espresso flavor is present, it could be a tad bit stronger. The presence of oats, sunflower seeds, flax seeds and almonds provide an oatmeal cookie type experience, only much more dense.

These all natural components provide 150 calories, 6 grams of total fat, 1.5 grams of which is saturated, 10 grams of sugars, 12% of the daily value for fiber (3 grams) and 4 grams of protein.

A 10-bar pack of Granola Gourmet Chocolate Espresso Energy Bar is available at the Granola Gourmet online store for $13.95, which is quite a reasonable price for this delicious treat. I would definitely buy this again, especially for those days when I just feel for something sweet and chocolatey, but don't want to go the candy bar route.

A similar bar is Gnu Foods Espresso Chip Flavor & Fiber Bar, which is also quite tasty but has a whopping 12 grams of fiber in a 45 gram bar.
