While browsing the Target Grocery Markdowns section, I ran across EnviroKidz Chocolate Organic Crispy Rice Bar. The only other "kids nutrition bar" I've previously experienced is the Clif Kid Organic Chocolate Chip Z Bars, and it was really good. What was $2.44, now only cost $1.70 and since I am a sucker for a bargain, I eagerly added a box of EnviroKidz Chocolate Organic Crispy Rice Bars to my overflowing stash of quick and portable snacks.
The first pleasant aspect to tempt your tastes buds is the smell, which is very similar to Cocoa Krispies cereal. Moving onward, the bar has a nice and chewy texture to it while still retaining the delightful crispiness of the puffed rice, which is smaller in size than you might imagine, so more of it can be packed into each bar. Therefore, each mouthful begins with a boost of crunch and eventually melds together into a smooth, chewy, chocolate-y delight. There is just enough gooiness to hold the rice puffs together, but not so much that you need to bring anti-bacterial wipes with you (like with Cascadian Farm Harvest Berry Bars).
A 28 gram EnviroKidz Organic Crispy Rice Bar provides 110 calories, 3 grams of total fat, no saturated fat, 7 grams of sugars, less than 1 gram of fiber and 1 gram of protein. This bar is also gluten-free in addition to being made with organic ingredients.
A 28 gram bar is enough of a treat for a child, but for a grown-up, it's not really enough for a satisfying snack - and this has little protein or fiber. So it's quite tasty, but more like a candy-bar replacement. If you were one of the many who thought that Chex Mix Chocolate Chunk Bars were way too sweet and gooey, but liked the idea of a portable chocolate treat, EnviroKidz has got you covered. Give their Organic Chocolate Crispy Rice Bar a try. You will not be sorry.
