Are you tired of hearing people gush about Vitalicious VitaTops yet? Well, I'm certainly not tired of eating them! The Deep Chocolate and AppleBerry Bran are just 2 of the MANY flavors that rock my world! Since I love VitaTops, I decided to seek out varieties that I hadn't tried before, and that led me to Vitalicious VitaMuffin Golden Corn VitaTops. It's not really a "sexy" sounding name, but I heard it from a few sources that this was delicious as well, and so I decided to give it a go.
Unfortunately, the Golden Corn VitaTop is not quite as near and dear to my heart (or taste buds) as some of the other varieties. Each bite reminds me of a slightly undercooked cake with a hint of corn in the distance. As I reached the mushy middle, I felt as though I was eating baby food (or corn bread batter). Maybe a spin in the toaster is what this needed because the flavor is quite good, but I just couldn't get over the weird texture. This was quite surprising to me because texture has never been an issue with VitaTops before.
Each dense 2 ounce Vitalicious VitaMuffin Golden Corn VitaTop provides 100 calories, no fat, 6% of the daily value for sodium, 24% of the DV for fiber, 9 grams of sugar, 3 grams of sugar alcohols and 4 grams of protein. The "vita" part of these muffin tops comes in the form of 15 vitamins and minerals ranging from 2-50% of the daily value (with the majority offering 50%).
Will I buy VitaMuffin Golden Corn VitaTops again? If I ever get my toaster back, I may give them a second chance. However, for $1.00 per top (on sale nonetheless), I would rather be consuming the o-so-delicious Deep Chocolate VitaTops.
