Rice Dream Vanilla Hazelnut Rice Milk has been a superstar in my breakfast for the past week or so. The flavor is sweet, which does wonders when added to cereals that aren't very sweet, like Cheerios Multigrain. The hazelnut also shines through, especially when you add a little to your coffee.
Each cup of Rice Dream Vanilla Hazelnut Rice Milk provides 140 calories from 2.5 grams of total fat (4% of the daily value), 3% of the DV for sodium (25 mg), 1 gram of protein and 29 grams of carbohydrates which includes 17 grams of sugar. The ingredients are filtered water, brown rice, organic evaporated cane juice, expeller pressed high oleic safflower oil and/or sunflower oil and/or canola oil, natural vanilla and hazelnut flavor with other natural flavors, tricalcium phosphate, sea salt, vitamin A palmitate, vitamin D2, vitamin B12.
That's a lot of sugar! While I loved the flavor, I never use more than 1/4 cup at a time (I don't like a lot of milk in my cereal). The price tag also is a major deterrent. It's $4.99 in my local grocery store compared to $2.99 for Blue Diamond Almond Milk. While I loved Rice Dream, it probably will not make a frequent appearance in my grocery cart - not without a coupon or a sale.
