Tropicana Essentials Healthy Heart Orange Juice Review
I previously reviewed Minute Maid Heartwise Orange Juice which was orange juice made healthier by adding cholesterol lowering plant sterols. Now I have discovered another heart healthy orange juice, Tropicana Essentials Healthy Heart. Tropicana is healthy for your heart in a different way than Minute Maid. Instead of plant sterols, Tropicana E. heart has a "combination of vitamins and minerals to help maintain cardiovascular health" according to the website. There's extra potassium, 450 mg or 13% of the RDA, for reduced risk of high blood pressure, lots of the B vitamins and folate (20% of the RDA), which may help maintain a healthy cardiovascular system, and protect unborn babies against some birth defects. Tropicana E. heart is also an excellent source of vitamin C (240%) and E (100%) to help protect cells and tissues. In addition there are 110 calories from an 8 ounce glass of juice and 22 grams of sugar.

One thing I love about this orange juice is that it is not from concentrate. The taste of Tropicana is a bit tart / sour / not sweet, but it's pure o.j. with no added sugar and I didn't mind the taste at all. I liked this, especially compared to the Tropicana Essentials Light - the mess they made by watering down orange juice and adding Splenda. It's not the cheapest o.j. on the market, but it's worth it, in my opinion.
