Weight Watchers Smart Ones Turtle Sundae Review

Weight Watchers Smart Ones Turtle Sundae is described as, "Low-fat vanilla flavored ice cream over a praline flavored cookie crust, topped with caramel sauce, chocolate chunks, and pecans." I got samples for the company, so one evening, I broke open the container where I found 2 desserts. I'm not even going to play around - I had them both - not because they are so delicious that I couldn't resist they're not), but because they were a little on the small side.

NUTRITION FACTS
Serving Size: 1 dessert (62 grams)
Calories: 130
Total Fat: 3 grams, 4%
Saturated Fat: 1 gram, 5%
Sodium: 75 mg, 3%
Carbohydrates: 23 grams
Fiber: 0%
Sugar: 10 grams
Protein: 3 grams

Let's talk about the taste. The Weight Watchers Smart Ones Turtle Sundae was just okay. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't particularly good or even memorable. Sure there's some a thin cookie crust on the bottom, and some caramel sauce with a few pecans & chocolate shavings sprinkled around, but everything just kind of blended together into a sweet concoction. I'm sorry to have to say this about Weight Watchers - especially since they were generous enough to send me quite a few samples - but I would rather make this myself, with an ice cream and toppings of my choosing.

Each 62 gram container of this sundae provides 130 calories, from 3 grams of total fat, 1 gram of which is saturated (5% and 3% of the DV), no fiber, 10 grams of sugars and 3 grams of protein. Not bad at all - although like I said, it's on the small side.

I thought the Weight Watchers Smart Ones Turtle Sundae was okay, especially at around $2.50 per box with 2 servings, but it's probably better to spend a little extra on a container of low fat or reduced sugar ice-cream and create your own sundae. I would go with Edy's Slow Churned Cookie Dough Light Ice Cream or Blue Bunny No Sugar Added Reduced Fat Banana Split Ice Cream, drizzle lightly with Hershey's Lite Chocolate Syrup and sprinkle with just a bit of EatStrong Trail Mix. And I would still top it off with fresh strawberries - the best thing to eat with ice cream in my opinion ... and better believe 1 serving will leave me satisfied.
