Turkey Hill Stuff'd Ice Cream is just absolutely delicious - at least, the Strawberry Cheesecake flavor that I previously reviewed. That was fresh on my mind while I was looking at the myriad of ice cream choices before me in the grocery store, so I decided to try another flavor, Turkey Hill Stuff'd Praline Pecan Paradise Ice Cream.
This is described as, "a Butter Pecan-flavored light ice cream with praline pecans and a caramel swirl." Like the other Stuff'd flavor I tried, I found that this ice cream melted really quickly, but that didn't detract much from the overall product. There was a lighter texture (I wonder if that's why it may be more prone to melting) and I did like the praline pecans and caramel ribbons. The ice cream base was nice and creamy, but, this ice cream just seemed overly sweet to me - too much for me to handle actually.
Each 1/2 cup serving of Turkey Hill Stuff'd Praline Pecan Paradise Ice Cream provides 120 calories, 5% and 8% of the daily value for total and saturated fat, 1 gram of fiber, 14 grams of sugar, 2 grams of protein, and a full 20% of the daily value for both calcium and vitamin D.
The nutrition facts aren't bad, but the ingredients list includes at least 5 instances of sugars including high fructose corn syrup. I paid $2.99 for a pint, but this isn't a flavor that I would buy again. Turkey Hill Stuff'd Strawberry Cheesecake Ice Cream was much better.
I saw a pint of Praline Pecan Paradise in the grocery store for $2.99, so I picked it up. The images of caramels and pecans on the front were quite appealing, and the ice cream promised "spoonful after spoonful of delight." I took my pint home to dig in.
