My first experience with Skinny Cow Ice Cream Cups was with the Cookies 'n Cream flavor. It was really creamy and delicious - so glad it was a single serving cup or else, major damage would have been done. On another trip to the grocery store, I saw the Strawberry Cheesecake flavor. I didn't have to think twice about putting down my $1.49.
This flavor of the Skinny Cow Strawberry Cheesecake Ice Cream Cups was nice and sweet, with the strawberry coming through to pair nicely with the rich background. I have a hard time calling something cheesecake if it doesn't have that light, fluffy texture, but this does have, as my boyfriend says, "an indescribable feeling that is something like cheesecake" (and this from a HUGE cheesecake fan). It's rich and thick, and it doesn't taste low-fat at all either.
Each 5.8 ounce cup provides 150 calories, 1 gram of total fat, 0.5 grams of which is saturated, 4 grams of fiber, 21 grams of sugar and 4 grams of protein. There is also 20% of the daily value for calcium.
Thanks for the extra fiber and protein in the ice cream Skinny Cow! But I have to say that I hope they simplify the ingredients list a little (if they can).
I do love this flavor though and I'm looking forward to trying the others (Caramel Cone, Chocolate Fudge Brownie, and Dulce de Leche).
