Looking through the ice cream reviews here on Iateapie.net, you can see that we have reviewed a LOT of Edy's products, so I decided on a self-imposed ban in order to make sure that I tried more variety. But, I saw these single portion cups and I couldn't resist, so I decided to try just one flavor. I picked up the Edy's Slow Churned Coffee Ice Cream Cup for $1.25.
This ice cream flavor is delicious - the coffee flavor is quite strong and goes well with the creamy ice cream. This is definitely another way to get a coffee boost - especially in the summer time. I ate this straight out of the freezer, so it was a little hard. I suggest you let it melt a little, as when it's slightly soft, it really is more enjoyable.
Each 96 gram container of Edy's Slow Churned Coffee Ice Cream Cup provides 160 calories, 8% and 15% of the daily values for total and saturated fat, 17 grams of sugars and 4 grams of protein.
The ingredients list start with skim milk, sugar, cream, corn syrup, and whey protein. It continues, but it's not too lengthy and most are recognizable.
The flavor of this is delightful, and although it's a little high in saturated fat (probably courtesy of the egg yolks seen in the ingredients list), I would definitely buy this again - especially since I've cut way down on my coffee consumption, and wouldn't mind a different kind of pick me up every now and again.
