There are quite a few reviews of Edy's Slow Churned Ice Cream flavors here on Iateapie.net, but one that I haven't tried before is Edy's Slow Churned Cookie Dough Light Ice Cream. Edy's says this has, "cookie dough pieces and chocolaty within vanilla light ice cream. Hard to believe it's 50% less fat and 30% fewer calories than regular ice cream."
From the description, I thought there would only be cookie dough in the ice cream, but it is actually a traditional chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream despite the name and I'm not complaining! The ice cream is tasty! But although the picture on the carton made it seem that the cookie dough pieces would be substantial, they turned out to be smaller than I had expected. Nevertheless, the overall ice cream was still good and there was quite a lot ff chocolate chips dispersed throughout.
A 1/2 cup serving of Edy's Slow Churned Cookie Dough Light Ice Cream provides 130 calories, 7% of the daily value for total fat, 15% of the DV for saturated fat, 14 grams of fiber and 3 grams of protein.
A 1.5 quart container normally costs $3.99 at Target, but I got this one on sale at $3.54. This ice cream is certainly lower in fat and calories than the full fat version, but I would rather have a different flavor of a healthier ice cream. This was okay, but I would rather have some of Edy's Slow Churned Thin Mint Cookie Ice Cream or Edy's Slow Churned Take the Cake Light Ice Cream.
