Oh my gosh ... has anyone tried Arctic Zero? I came across it randomly online, and when I saw than an entire pint of the frozen ice cream-like goodness had just 128 calories, I had to try it. Luckily for me, I'm in California right now where certain stores happen to carry this product. What is Arctic Zero, you ask? It's a "rich and creamy ice cream replacement designed for those who love dessert but avoid high calorie and high fat foods."
I picked up a pint of each Chocolate, Vanilla, and Chocolate Peanut Butter flavors for just $3.69 each (less than a pint of some premium ice creams) and set out to be amazed. I decided I was in a Peanut Butter kind of mood, so I opened that one. I dug in, and all I can say is - WOW
! Although it doesn't taste exactly like full-fat ice cream, this stuff is pretty darn good. Talk about rich and creamy, perfect for a hot summer day.
Each 1/2 cup serving of Arctic Zero Chocolate Peanut Butter (4 per container) provides 32 calories, no fat, 11 grams of carbohydrates which includes 9 grams of sugar, plus 4 grams of protein (source). The ingredients are Purified water, whey protein concentrate, whey low, dutch processed cocoa powder, xantham gum, locust bean gum, guar gum, carrageenan gum, natural peanut flavor, and salt. Not bad!
I love this stuff, and I will be buying it as much as I can in California (and perhaps ordering it on Amazon.com"> (which has free shipping) - when I get back to New York. This is perfect for folks with lactose intolerance, but trust me, everybody will enjoy this.
