Weight Watchers Smart Ones Thai Style Chicken & Noodles

Get ready for a lot of Frozen Dinner Reviews, because I think I picked up one of everything from my local grocery store a few nights ago. I love when companies try to have more exotic flavors, so one of the 1st products I tried from my haul was Weight Watchers Smart Ones Thai Style Chicken & Rice Noodles.

The prep directions said to microwave for 4 minutes 30 seconds, which is what I did. I was actually very pleasantly surprised by how good this meal was. It's simple - rice noodles, carrots & chicken in a "Thai style" sauce - and in this case, the simplicity paid off. There small chunks of chicken provided was quite plentiful, and it was well saturated with in a brown sauce. Loved the sauce - not as sweet and creamy as I expected (or dreaded), and when everything was mixed together, the sauce was the glue was what made the dish pop. It was flavorful with a hint of pepper after a few mouthfuls. The rice noodles on their own were quite bland - as all rice noodles are, so make sure to really mix everything together. The matchstick size carrots actually remained quite firm even after 4 minutes in the microwave, and they added a nice crunch to the meal.

I had this for dinner, but the 255 gram entree looked a wee bit small, so I added a side of Pictsweet Steam'ables Baby Sugar Snap Peas, which rounded out the meal nicely.

Each Weight Watchers Smart Ones Thai Style Chicken & Noodles entree (260 grams) provides 260 calories from 4 grams of total fat (6% of the daily value), 0.5 grams of which is saturated (4% of the DV), 620 mg sodium (26% of the DV), 2 grams of fiber, 10 grams of sugars and 15 grams of protein. This has a 7 PointsPlus value, and the ingredients list, although lengthy, is mostly filled with recognizable ingredients.

I purchased this on sale for $2.50 and would definitely buy this again. It makes a tasty lunch and can be part of a really nice dinner. Another tasty Thai style frozen dinner option is Helen's Kitchen Thai Yellow Curry (Review).
