Cedarlane Low Fat Chicken Burrito Review

Cedarlane Low Fat Chicken BurritoI really like Amy's Organic Beans & Rice Burrito, but as a non-vegetarian, I like to eat meat too. A lot of burritos are very large and calorie dense, so I'm pretty aggressive about analyzing nutrition labels on burritos. For a healthier meat burrito, I went with Cedarlane Low Fat Chicken Burrito.

NUTRITION FACTS
Serving Size: 1 burrito
Calories: 270
Total Fat: 3 grams, 5%
Saturated Fat: 1 gram, 5%
Sodium: 500 mg, 21%
Carbohydrates: 47 grams
Fiber: 6 grams, 24%
Sugars: 1 gram
Protein: 15 grams

The beans and rice are organic and provide the necessary kick for the burrito. The shredded chicken looked very good, but the taste wasn't particularly noticeable compared with the other spices in the burrito. There is cheddar cheese included in the burrito, but I couldn't really tell when I was eating it.

Each 6 ounce burrito has 270 calories and 3 grams of fat, including 1 gram of saturated fat, 21% of the daily value for sodium, 15 grams of protein and 6 grams of dietary fiber.

The burrito cost $2.79 at Kroger. In addition to the reasonable calorie count, the burrito has less sodium than the typical frozen entree and provides lots of protein, fiber, and iron; plus, it tasted great too. As a "flexitarian," or one who eats meat occasionally, I would put this burrito on par with the Amy's burrito and maybe even surpassing Amy's depending on how much I'm lookin' to eat chicken.

Cedarlane Beans Rice & Cheese Style Burrito, Cedarlane Pizza Veggie Wrap and Cedarlane Couscous & Vegetable Veggie Wrap also have good ratings. Looks like Cedarlane Burritos are the way to go!
