South Beach Diet Savory Pork and Green Beans Review
South Beach Diet Savory Pork and Green Beans has "tender pieces of pork in a savory sauce with onions, celery and pecans with seasoned green beans and yellow peppers." When you look at this product after taking it out of the box and microwaving it, there is not much to it - pork in a sauce on one side of the tray and green beans on the other side. It actually looks like food you would serve in an institution like a prison or a mental facility. But, I guess that's what South Beach is about, boring, ummm ... I mean, getting back to basics - just meat and vegetables.
When I got down to eating this meal, it wasn't too bad, but there certainly isn't any wow factor. It's something you would eat and then 1 hour later wonder if you ate lunch because you just can't remember actually eating - it is that forgettable. Nevertheless, the pork is tender as they say, and since they didn't have to make any room for that carby pasta or rice, there is plenty meat and green beans. The green beans themselves are also forgettable. I have had quite a few frozen meals where I stop and say, I can't believe the vegetables were that crisp even after I microwaved it. Not so with this. Again, they aren't bad, just ... there.

This was on sale for $2.67 when I bought it. While this won't win any awards for taste, it is a decent meal ... that I will not be purchasing again. There must be something better out there in the supermarket aisles for folks on the South Beach Diet. [Note the nutrition facts on the Kraft/ South Beach website this product differ from the box. Always go with the facts on the actual product because the website might not always be up to date].
