Lean Cuisine Balsamic Glazed Chicken Review

Rating:

Lean Cuisine Lean Cuisine has a lot of delicious options these days. The Lean Cuisine Balsamic Glazed Chicken is no exception. You can't really go wrong with 'roasted chicken tenderloins in a balsamic glaze with an orzo pasta and vegetable meddley.' I must admit, this is the first time I was having 'orzo pasta.' it looks like white rice, but it doesn't taste quite like it. It has a much firmer texture like undercooked rice. It took some getting used to, but that was because I kept thinking about rice, but it is definitely not bad.

The balsamic glaze complimented the chicken well, providing a nice sauce that added flavor to the pasta and the moist juicy chcken chunks. They also included apple crisp as dessert. 'Apple crisp' is like oats/granola with apples baked together in a sugary mix. It tastes good, although it is quite sweet, but it could have been left out in my opinion. Many people are used to eating a sweet dessert with dinner, so I am assuming this is for them. If you are trying to eat healthier though, I suggest leaving this out.

The Lean Cuisine Balsamic Glazed Chicken meal had more calories than many of the others reviewed, at 400 calories. There were also 8 grams of fat, 3 grams of saturated fat and 890 mg sodium and 28 grams of sugar - not the most 'healthy choice.' (get the pun on Healthy Choice? - you know - they also make healthy frozen food ... okay so maybe it was a bit corny).

Overall, Lean Cuisine is getting away from the whole 'lean' idea with all these calories. the taste is okay, but there are other healthier choices.
