Veggie Patch Veggie Dogs Review

I'm still not over the fact that Morningstar Farms Veggie Dogs Review have been discontinued (thankfully at least the Morningstar Farms Corn Dogs are back). In the search for a vegetarian replacement, I decided to try Veggie Patch Veggie Dogs.
Serving Size: 2 veggie dogs (70 grams)
Calories: 170
Total Fat: 11 grams, 17%
Saturated Fat: 1.5 gram, 8%
Sodium: 560 mg, 23%
Carbohydrates: 5 grams
Fiber: 1 gram, 4%
Sugars: 2 grams
Protein: 13 grams
The look reminds me of Quorn Meat Free Dogs, i.e. long and slender, but they taste much better (and have half as much sodium). With all the fixins' these dogs are okay, but they're not juicy or particularly tasty on their own (slightly cardboardy) - I made these on the stove-top, so maybe they taste better grilled (I certainly hope so). For a meat-eater, these aren't going to do it for you - in fact, Ball Park Fat Free Beef Franks has less calories (50 calories per 50 gram dog) and are mighty tasty. But if you don't eat meat, then these will do ... but only just.
Each serving of 2 Veggie Patch Veggie Dogs provides 170 calories, 11 grams of total fat, 1.5 grams of which is saturated fat (17% and 8% of the daily value), 560 mg of sodium (23% of the DV), 1 gram of fiber, 2 grams of sugars and 13 grams of protein.

The ingredients list is quite lengthy and starts with textured vegetable protein. A pack of 8 costs $3.99 at my local grocery store, but I received samples from the company to review. I dare say that this is not something I will be buying for myself in the future, but only because I'm a meat-eater.
Any recommendations for favorite brand of veggie dogs?
