Pepperidge Farm Pumpernickel Snack Sticks Review
I can honestly say that I've not eaten much of anything with pumpernickel, but I do love the sound of that word. According to Wikipedia, "pumpernickel is a type of sourdough bread from Germany that is made with a combination of rye flour and rye meal (more coarsely ground than flour) and is very dark in color." The Pumpernickel Snack sticks made by Pepperidge Farm are not like bread, but instead are more like crackers. This means, it's neither very salty, and definitely not sweet. These days, we are more used to the salty taste of potato chips, or the sweet taste of cookies and biscuits, so this may take some getting used to at first. But you get used to it quickly, and I think this is a great snack. In addition to eating them alone, it's also great to eat by dipping into light cream cheese, like Philadelphia Garden Vegetable Light Cream Cheese, or even better, with Laughing Cow Light Spreadable Original Swiss Cheese Flavor Wedges.

The best thing about Pepperidge Farm Pumpernickel Snack Sticks is probably the nutrition. One serving, or about 15 sticks, has 120 calories, 1.5 grams of fat, 410 mg of sodium (17% of the RDA), 2 grams of fiber and 1 gram of sugars. One box costs about $3.00, which costs a bit more than Cheez Its for example, but then the nutrition is so much better!
