Solea Polenta Corn Chips are made by Good Health Natural Foods, Inc. They are all natural, made with premium non-GMO corn from Europe and have no saturated or trans fat. There are several varieties including Mediterranean Lime, Tuscan Barbecue, Guacamole and Sea Salt, which is my favorite. The texture of the polenta chips is unique with a great thick crunch, and the scoop-like shape makes them a great partner for dips or yummy hummus like Sabra Supremely Spicy Hummus (read the review). They are also great by themselves though, because they're so much fun to pop in your mouth.
A 1 ounce serving of Solea Sea Salt Polenta Corn Chips has 120 calories and 3.5 grams of total fat (5% of the recommended daily amount), no saturated fat, 20 grams of total carbohydrates and 10% of the RDA for sodium (250 mg). The ingredients are simply corn, sunflower oil and sea salt.
A 5 ounce bag costs around $3.00, but a pack of 12 can be found on Amazon.com for $24.12, which works out to less than $2.00 per bag. Reach for these instead of Frito Lay corn chips, which has 160 calories and 10 grams of fat (15% of the RDA) per serving - 3x that of Soleao Polenta Corn Chips.
