The search for a low calorie, sweet snack is OVER! Orville Redenbacher's Caramel Mini Smart Cakes is a wonderfully tasty, deliciously sweet, crispy snack that smells and taste like caramel popcorn, but without being overly sweet and sticky. I also really liked the shape. Each "mini smart cake" is a small disc shaped oval, about 1.5 inches in diameter - the size of a potato chip.
What's so Smart about these? 60 calories for a serving of 9 -10 mini-cakes!
What's even smarter? The ingredients list is short and simple - and surprisingly contains no artificial sweeteners.
In addition to having only 60 calories, each serving of Orville Redenbacher's Caramel Mini Smart Cakes has no fat, 1% of the RDA for sodium (35 mg), 1 gram of protein and 13 grams of total carbohydrate, which includes 4 grams of sugar and 4% of the RDA for fiber (1 gram). The ingredients list says "popcorn, sugar, less than 2% of caramel, color, salt, partially hydrognated oils etc. In this case, there probably is only a trace amount of trans fat if any - since this product is fat free.
A huge 7 ounce bag with 13 servings costs $2.32 at the time of purchase, which is a bargain. Are you still reading this review? Go get it now!
