Penny's Low Fat Desserts totally rock my socks off. The company sent me a snack pack to try out the different varieties, and I don't think I have encountered any that I haven't liked yet! The Almond Poppy Seed, Carrot Raisin and Chocolate Chocolate Chip Muffin Tops are a MUST try for everyone. When it comes to the cookies, Penny's No Sugar Added Chocolate Truffle Cookie might be my favorite ... wait, or is it the Peanut Butter Cookies? Well, as I was thinking about this, I realized that Penny's has another product that was named after ME! Ha - I wish, but it does have my name, which means that Penny's Low Fat Desserts White Chocolate Cranberry (Emily's Medley) Cookie must be stupendously good!
I don't just eat cookies straight up all the time - how boring! If I'm going to eat a cookie, then there are a few different methods I use to ensure maximum satisfaction - I could toast it, microwave it or eat it straight from the freezer, and I wasn't sure which was the best way to enjoy this cookie. Naturally, this means I tested out each different method, and came to one not-surprising conclusion: the one thing that remained the same was the delicious flavor profile!
This cookie is chock-full of white chocolate chunks that remind me of a white chocolate macadamia nut cookie (my dad's favorite). Furthermore, the cranberries combine with the white chocolate and the soft and fluffy, yet dense oatmeal base to make for quite the party in your mouth. You can eat this cookie straight from the freezer for a dense and cool treat that is still soft and ready for you to dig right in. However, it is also delicious when you pop it out of the toaster and enable it to fully develop that "fresh-from-the-oven" taste. Oh yum

Each huge 52 gram Penny's Low Fat Desserts White Chocolate Cranberry Cookie (Emily's Medley) provides 150 calories, 4% & 6% of the daily value for total and saturated fat, 6% of the DV for sodium, 7 grams of fiber (27% of the DV), 21 grams of sugar and 2 grams of protein. A bit heavy on the grams of sugar, so this can only be an occasional treat for me - something I could have with special friends - it's also quite big too, so break one in half and share! The ingredients list starts with sugar (no surprise there) and includes whole wheat flour, erythritol & corn syrups (as additional sweeteners), dried cranberries, oats etc.
The price of Penny's Low Fat Desserts White Chocolate Cranberry Cookie $1.54 per cookie, which is a bit steep when compared to some in-store goodies, but once you sink your teeth into these treats, you will be more than willing to pay the $1.54 price tag, so that you too can relish in the goodness. I cannot wait until the seasonal, Celestial Seasonings Sugar Cookie Sleigh Ride Tea comes out again, as I imagine these two will make a perfect pair. I have to rate this somewhere between 3.5 and 4, because although it's delicious, the price & amount of sugar are working against it - though the low fat & high fiber makes up for it a little.
