I pounced on these cookies because I had a free coupon from the friendly folks over at Country Choice Organic and this box of soft baked cookies was just calling out my name from the tempting cookie-laden shelves.
I had very high hopes for these cookies, until I popped open the box and took out one of the individually wrapped treats. They are small.
Actually, they are the same size as your average homemade cookie (slightly larger than the end of a coke can). I guess I was just expecting something bigger; but I put aside my unfair expectations and bit into this tantalizing treat. The dense oat mixture combines with cane syrup, oil and honey to create an incredibly soft and chewy cookie. There is a touch of coconut and a handful of chewy raisins that contribute to this delightfully sweet and moist cookie.
Each 23 gram Country Choice Organic Soft Baked Oatmeal Raisin Cookie provides 100 calories, 3 grams of total fat of which 0.5 grams is saturated (5% & 3% of the daily value), 1 gram of fiber (4% of the DV), 9 grams of sugar and 1 gram of protein.
More fiber and protein would have been welcome, but may have detracted from the sinfulness of this tasty treat. The ingredient list is of course organic, all natural, short & sweet.
Sure, my big bad sweet tooth wanted an extra bite or two, but I think that these 100 calorie cookies provide the perfect way to end your meal on a sweet note. I will most definitely purchase Country Choice Organic Soft Baked Oatmeal Raisin Cookies again, but only if they are on sale because $3.79 for a box of 8 cookies is a bit steep for this bargain girl.
