Stacy's Pita Chips has a huge fan base, and you can count me in as one too. Stacy's Chips are, "made from all natural pita ... then twice baked for the perfect crunch with delicious all-natural seasoning baked right in." When I was passing by the Target markdowns section and spotted a flavor I had never tasted before, the foodie within got super excited and of course, this had to go in my shopping cart. The minute I got home from the store, I popped open the bag of Stacy's Naturally Cheddar Pita Chips and started munching.
The flavor profile reminds me of Cheeze-its. Actually, at times, I do not feel like I am eating pita chips, instead I feel like I am eating cheese crackers, and though it's pleasant that's not really what I signed up for. I suppose it tastes different to me because it's seasoned with real cheese, and I'm probably used to fake cheddar flavored chips. I purchased a jumbo, family sized bag at Target (on sale) for $3.00 and I will certainly have no problem finishing it. On the other hand, I do not think Stacy's Naturally Cheddar Pita Chips will satisfy your pita chip desires. They will, however, satisfy you hunger for crunchy, cheesy crackers.
Each serving of 1 ounce serving of Stacy's Naturally Cheddar Pita Chips (about 9 chips), provides 140 calories, 9% and 5% of the daily value for total and saturated fat, 13% of the DV for sodium, 1 gram of fiber, 1 gram of sugar and 3 grams of protein.
The ingredient list could use some improvement. It starts off with enriched wheat flour (as opposed to 100% whole wheat flour) and is slightly long, although nothing too repulsive appears, seeing as the chips are all natural.
When you are looking to fulfill a pita chip craving, Stacy is your girl ... usually - you just have to pick the right flavor! Ellen wasn't a big fan of Stacy's Cinnamon Sugar Pita Chips, while I'm not a big fan of these Naturally Cheddar Pita Chips. While the cheddar variety did not remind me much of pita chips, all of the other flavors of Stacy's Pita Chips usually deliver.
